Reframing Environmental Scanning: An Integral Approach∗
نویسنده
چکیده
The basis for a broadened scanning framework is described which may also function as a means for understanding how human minds filter their perceptions of the world. The framework is based on the Four-Quadrant Integral model of Ken Wilber and the Spiral Dynamics model of Don Beck and Chris Cowan. An analytical tool (cross-level analysis) is presented for examining views of the world in terms of both the perceptual filters of the viewer as well as the aspect of the world being viewed, a technique which is also useful for analysing how other scanners do their scanning. A notation for crosslevel analysis is presented and described, with examples of its use. ∗An earlier version of this paper appears in Foresight — The journal of future studies, strategic thinking and policy, Vol 3, No 6, pp533-52, December 2001. Reframing in context: A systematic approach for model reuse in machine learning
We describe a systematic approach called reframing, defined as the process of preparing a machine learning model (e.g., a classifier) to perform well over a range of operating contexts. One way to achieve this is by constructing a versatile model, which is not fitted to a particular context, and thus enables model reuse. We formally characterise reframing in terms of a taxonomy of context chang...
متن کاملAn approach based on statistical spline model for Volterra-Fredholm integral equations
In this paper, an approach based on statistical spline model (SSM) and collocation method is proposed to solve Volterra-Fredholm integral equations. The set of collocation nodes is chosen so that the points yield minimal error in the nodal polynomials. Under some standard assumptions, we establish the convergence property of this approach. Numerical results on some problems are given...
متن کاملConvergence of an Approach for Solving Fredholm Functional Integral Equations
In this work, we give a product Nyström method for solving a Fredholm functional integral equation (FIE) of the second kind. With this method solving FIE reduce to solving an algebraic system of equations. Then we use some theorems to prove the existence and uniqueness of the system. Finally we investigate the convergence of the method.
متن کاملThe social determinants of health: how can a radical agenda be mainstreamed?
The social justice framing within the WHO Commission's Report on the Social Determinants of Health is vital. Yet it can too easily be dismissed as ideology and an unfit justification for major change. Although the general public acknowledges that structural factors, such as poverty, can affect health, they tend to see personal health behaviours as the strongest determinants of health, mirroring...
متن کاملA Successive Numerical Scheme for Some Classes of Volterra-Fredholm Integral Equations
In this paper, a reliable iterative approach, for solving a wide range of linear and nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations is established. First the approach considers a discretized form of the integral terms where considering some conditions on the kernel of the integral equation it is proved that solution of the discretized form converges to the exact solution of the problem. Then th...
